Comparison
BookMyBays vs Sweetspot
Sweetspot is a Swedish golf commerce platform sold by demo and billed a year at a time. BookMyBays publishes its prices, bills monthly, and takes 0% on bookings.
No credit card · Cancel any time
You can see the price before you talk to anyone
Ours is on the website — from £30/month, 30-day free trial, no card. Sweetspot publish no pricing at all; every route on their site is "Book a Demo".
Monthly, not a year up front
Cancel any time and pay for the month you are in. Sweetspot’s facilities terms have you pay twelve months in advance — their Monthly Fee "times twelve".
Unmanned hours without extra hardware
BookMyBays Agent locks and unlocks the bay itself, included in the price. Sweetspot run unmanned venues too, through a hardware integration with QT Systems — another supplier in the stack, and another quote to get.

- Sweetspot do not publish pricing. There is no pricing page on sweetspot.io and no figure appears on their business-area pages — pricing comes through a demo (checked 2026-08-06). We have not estimated what they charge, so there are no like-for-like totals on this page. Ask them for a quote and put it next to ours.
- Sweetspot’s published terms for golf facilities state that the facility pays "the Monthly Fee to Sweetspot in advance, on a yearly basis, i.e Monthly Fee times twelve" (clause 5.1), and that a Transaction Fee applies "based on the payment method and percentage stated in Appendix 1" (clause 5.2) — Appendix 1 is part of your individual contract, so the rate is not public. Source: sweetspot.io/golf-facilities-terms, checked 2026-08-06.
- The same terms state the transaction fee applies to all transactions "regardless of e.g., any complaint or canceled Bookings" (clause 5.3), that fees are deducted from what is paid out to the facility (clause 5.5), and that payouts are made in arrears "no later than two calendar weeks following the current accounting period" (clause 6.2). BookMyBays payments go into your own Stripe account on Stripe’s normal payout schedule, with our subscription billed separately.
- BookMyBays takes 0% on bookings and 1% on membership payments and event ticket sales. Simulator pricing: £30/mo for 2 sims, scaling down to £7/mo per additional bay. Driving range: £30/mo covers up to 10 bays, +£3/mo per extra bay. Billed monthly, cancel any time.
- Card processing costs apply on both platforms and are excluded from both columns. On BookMyBays that is Stripe’s standard rate (typically around 1.4% + 20p), charged by Stripe rather than by us.

Billing terms
Sweetspot’s facilities terms (clause 5.1) have the venue pay the Monthly Fee "in advance, on a yearly basis, i.e Monthly Fee times twelve".
Branded checkout
Sweetspot advertise a branded booking experience with your colours, logo and home screen.
Bookings on your own domain
Point a subdomain of your own domain at BookMyBays and that becomes your booking page.
How custom domains work →Guest checkout — no account needed
Pick a slot, add players, pay — a few taps on a phone, no sign-up and no app. Ours is public, so try both before you decide.
Try our live booking flow →Native iOS / Android apps
Sweetspot sell bookings through iOS, Android, web and on-site. BookMyBays is a mobile-first web booking page — nothing for your customer to install.
Automated bay access control
Both do it. Sweetspot advertise it through their QT Systems integration — lock and lights, simulators starting and stopping with the booking, "operate your indoor facility without staff". BookMyBays Agent does the locking and unlocking itself, in the subscription.
Extend a booking in progress
Sweetspot advertise this through the QT integration; BookMyBays extends from the dashboard when the next slot is free.
Group & party bookings across bays
Sell a party as a package, take a headcount, and seat it across consecutive bays as one booking charged once.
Multi-player & group pricing
Membership plans & subscriptions
Both offer them. Sweetspot advertise memberships created and sold online.
Vouchers / prepaid value
Vouchers are one of Sweetspot’s core modules.
Gift cards
Bought online via guest checkout, with a chosen design and personal message, delivered by email, redeemed at checkout.
Customer account credit
Add a balance to a customer account and it applies itself at checkout, with a full ledger of what went where.
Outstanding balances & mark paid
Deposit-paid bookings carry the amount still owed, and one button records it when you take payment in person.
Time-of-day & dynamic pricing
Sweetspot’s pricing tools are a headline feature — they advertise pricing by bay type, bucket size, tracking technology, duration and time of day, driven by historical data.
Promo codes & discounts
BookMyBays codes are per-venue, so your code names are your own. Group them into campaigns, restrict them to named customers, and archive a name to free it up again.
Reporting & analytics
This is Sweetspot’s strong suit — they position as a "BI Powered Golf Commerce platform" and lead with willingness-to-pay and playing-pattern analysis.
Customer profiles / CRM
Sweetspot advertise automated customer insight and segmentation.
Magic-link customer booking view
Customers manage or cancel from an emailed link — no account, no password.
Lessons & coaching (booking)
BookMyBays lessons carry per-coach working hours, time off and coach-aware availability.
Events & ticketing
Leagues, tournaments, socials and classes sold as tickets on your booking page — capacity limits, member pricing, and a live door list for check-in.
Driving range bay management
Both cover ranges. Sweetspot add ball-dispenser hardware and Toptracer integration; BookMyBays covers range bays in the same £30/mo plan as simulators.
Integrated ball dispenser
Sweetspot’s dispenser identifies bookings, memberships and vouchers by QR code. BookMyBays does not integrate with ball dispensers.
Toptracer integration
Tee sheets for golf courses
Sweetspot cover golf clubs and tee times. BookMyBays is built for bays, not courses.
POS
POS is one of Sweetspot’s modules. BookMyBays does not have a POS.

Where Sweetspot is stronger
We are not the right fit for everyone. Here is where Sweetspot has the edge today.
Business intelligence and revenue management
Sweetspot call themselves a BI-powered golf commerce platform and mean it — willingness-to-pay analysis, playing patterns, packaging and pricing built on your history. Our reporting tells you how trading is going; theirs is a deeper analytics product. If squeezing yield is your main project, they have more to offer.
Driving range hardware
Their integrated ball dispenser with QR identification, and their Toptracer integration, tie the physical range together in a way BookMyBays does not attempt. For a big ball-and-bucket operation, that is a real advantage.
Golf clubs, tee sheets and academies
Sweetspot cover golf clubs, tee times and academies alongside bays. If you run a course as well as simulators, they span more of your business than we do.
Scale and native apps
They operate across Europe and beyond with iOS and Android apps, POS and accounting integrations, and named UK customers. BookMyBays is a smaller UK team, and our booking flow is the mobile web rather than an app.
Looking for a Sweetspot alternative? FAQs
The questions venues ask when weighing up a switch.
Is BookMyBays a good alternative to Sweetspot?
For a simulator or driving range venue that wants bookings, memberships, payments and automated bay access without a sales process, yes — that is exactly what BookMyBays does, at a price you can read on the website. If you also run a golf course with tee sheets, need a ball dispenser integration, or want deep revenue analytics, Sweetspot covers ground we do not — the feature table above is honest about which is which.
How much does Sweetspot cost?
They do not publish it. There is no pricing page on sweetspot.io and no figures on their product pages, so a quote comes through a demo. Their published terms for golf facilities do set out the shape of the deal: a monthly fee paid twelve months in advance, plus a percentage transaction fee whose rate is set in your individual contract. BookMyBays starts at £30/month, billed monthly, with 0% on bookings — you can check that in ten seconds without speaking to anyone.
Does Sweetspot charge transaction fees?
Yes, their facilities terms provide for one — the rate sits in Appendix 1 of your agreement rather than on their website, so ask for it. The terms also say it applies to all transactions through their payment service regardless of complaints or cancelled bookings, and that it is deducted from what they pay out to you. BookMyBays takes 0% on bookings and 1% on membership payments and event ticket sales, and your customers’ money goes into your own Stripe account.
How do I switch from Sweetspot to BookMyBays?
Start the 30-day free trial (no card needed) and have a play. Because Sweetspot bill a year up front, most venues line the move up with their renewal date — tell us when yours is and we will plan back from it. We can import your customers, memberships and upcoming bookings, and help you rebuild your slot types and pricing. Most venues are live within a weekend.
What does Sweetspot offer that BookMyBays does not?
Tee sheets for golf courses, an integrated ball dispenser with Toptracer, a POS, accounting integrations, native iOS and Android apps, and a deeper business-intelligence layer. If any of those is essential to how you run your venue, they are the stronger fit today.

Coming off Sweetspot? Check your renewal date first.
Because Sweetspot bill the year in advance, the tidy moment to move is at renewal — tell us when yours falls and we will work back from it.
